A small studio with long horizons.

Colombo IT is an engineering studio based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. We work with five clients at a time, that cap is the product.

We started Colombo IT after a decade across fintech and platform teams in Singapore, London, and Colombo. We were tired of two things: agencies that staff with juniors, and "AI consultancies" that ship slide decks.

So we built the opposite. Every engagement is led by a senior engineer who stays on the account from the first call through to operations. We cap the client roster so the people you meet are the people who do the work.

What we believe

Why Sri Lanka

  • Deep engineering talent. Over 75,000 professional engineers, with strong CS programmes at Moratuwa, Colombo and Peradeniya feeding global product teams.
  • English-first business culture. A common-law legal system inherited from the UK, contracts, IP and dispute resolution map cleanly to EU and US practice.
  • Data protection. The Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA, 2022) is aligned with GDPR principles. DPAs and SCCs available on request.
  • Timezone bridge. GMT+5:30 sits between EU and APAC mornings, with productive overlap into US East Coast evenings, true 24/7 coverage without follow-the-sun handoff theatre.
